This week the World Wildlife Fund have come to inspect our new hatchery at Pom Pom Island. Gavin Jollis, the new turtle specialist looked around our new hatchery, remarking how attractive but functional it was, fitting into the Pom Pom Island design. During the visit over coffee Sally and Marco asked Nina Ho and Gavin about the best methods for conservation of the sea turtle. We also talked about other issues concerning the dive sites at Pom Pom and other nearby islands, looking to protect the natural reef habitat. The WWF had recently re-inspected Pom Pom Island Dive Sites and had found them much improved with a variety of fish life. All good news for Pom Pom.

今週、WWF (World Wildlife Fund)のスタッフが海亀の卵の保護施設の見学に訪れました。リゾートスタッフのサリーとマルコが、海亀のスペシャリストのガビンさんより保護方法や施設についてアドバイスをいただきました。施設見学のあとはコーヒーブレイクをまじえてマルコとサリー＆WWFのニーナとガビンの間でポンポン島周辺のダイブサイト、珊瑚の保護活動についてディスカッション。WWFによると、最近行われたポンポン島のダイブサイト調査では生態系が様々な点で改善されているとのこと。。
