We are starting the New Year as we mean to continue at the Dive Centre this month.  We are actively collecting the Crown of Thorn Starfish from the corals surrounding our Island.  The last few days have seen some of our individual members of staff collecting these starfish, but today, everyone took part.  We have some good news, the numbers are definitely going down.  After 7 of us searching for over an hour, only 10 starfish were found, which is a great improvement from before.  We are planning now, to continue this work with the other reefs in the area, alongside our coral replanting programme at Pom Pom Island.

新年を迎えたダイブセンター、課題は今月も続いてオニヒトデの除去活動。ここ数日はスタッフ各個人で活動しておりましたが今日は全員で活動を実施。うれしいことに私たちの努力の甲斐あってオニヒトデの数は明らかに減少してきているわ！7人で１時間探索して回収したオニヒトデはなんとたった10匹。以前と比べて大きな成果。ポンポン島では珊瑚の再生活動を計画中。今度はまた別のエリアで除去活動を実施予定。
